My Inspiration

God's visible creation is what inspires me. It fills me with deep joy, inspires me, fascinates me. Painting is for me a form to express my feelings, my impressions. Thus, painting is my vocabulary, my grammar, my language with which I express what particularly appeals to me. As I paint, I experience an interaction, a kind of dialogue with the object I paint. It touches me, engages me, and I experience it. And I respond to it by painting it.
Light has a great value for me. Light stands for life for warmth, but also for truth and for knowledge. Things become visible and perceptible, get their color and become alive - as soon as the light falls on them. It is precisely this light that appeals to me in the various motifs that I paint and stimulates me to paint.

I was born in 1967 as Izabela Dziwis in a little Polish city called Miasteczko ÅšlÄ…skie. From 1982 till 1987 I attended the “High School of Art” in Kielce. Afterwards, from 1989 till 1994, I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under prof. Jerzy Nowosielski. Then, from 1991 till 1992, I studied for one year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under prof. Franz Bernhard Weisshaar. In 1994 I finished my studies with a degree of "Master of Fine Arts".
